This is the 5th book in the series Straight Guys, and the plots and characters are getting repetitive.1. There is always someone who thinks they are straight, despite some obvious hints (O.K. This is the premise of the whole series, but is there another way to approach this topic?)2. There is always a Dom (who boards on being horribly cruel, insensitive, and a taste for BSDM) and a Sub (almost always the younger one in the pair, who has some major self-esteem problems).3. The "straight" guy eventually comes over to the other side due to mind-blowing sex. I'd like to see more falling in love with your true life partner.Still, for all that, I really liked Jamie, the sub homosexual, in this pairing. I didn't really care for Ryan as much (see point number 2 above). 5 starsJust A Bit Confusing is the fifth in Straight Guys series which is an MM Romance series. This title has a HEA. The same people can still be characters in other series titles aside from the one where they appear as main characters. The books can be read also as standalones. The story may contain descriptions some readers might find improper.The main couple in this story are Ryan Hardaway, Tristan's Zach's brother and his bestie, James Grayson, Tristan's legitimate half-brother, the heir himself. We also get to meet one of the next story main characters who's friends with James. The epilogue sounds intrigueing. I can already taste what the next one is like. As an extra cherry on top we get a confrontation scene of Tristan and his father in this one and secrets unfold for all parties.Jamie's the gay one from the start with with no experience really due to being in love with Ryan. Ryan's the ladies' man from already young who's got for the present also a steady girlfriend. Jamie's been carrying a torch for him in secret since a teen without Ryan or anyone being none the wiser. The story is about Jamie coming to the point of finally needing to confess his feelings and say them out loud win or lose and having to make that decision to go for it despite even being in the situation where his moral right for making that choice is being put on question. Ryan needs time to come to his conclusions and it's painful for him and for Jamie in the meantime though there're definite very clear roadsigns announcing how it should be. It's not so easy always to read the obvious signs if your sight is skewed to start with. Luckily it sorts itself out before it's too late!This is one of the least "twisted" stories in the series. This title's what we could perhaps call a bit more classic, expected type of GFY stories, but it's not one bit less hot and it's just as enticing as the rest - of course depending on what appeals to us each most. I'd even go out on a limb and say there are scorching scenes, and not all that tame, no. The story's not very easy on the characters. There's angst and desperation, difficult choices, twisting and turning around, not easy as breathing from the get go. Well done. There's lots of emotion and there's lots of Hot Stuff. The main characters fit. It's written so well that it doesn't feel at all as if it had too many side characters as it connects to the background. And there are a few. It's not confusing or messy due to any of that. That makes a story much more enjoyable. I appreciate that. What came to my mind several times while thinking about this story and my own reading experience was that I feel it's well-balanced. It's angsty due to the story but not over-dramatically so. I think it's a thoroughly enjoyable title in this series.
